Blowing Rock & North Carolina’s High Country Attractions ~ Recreational Activities

The High Country has a diverse selection of attractions for the whole family. Tweetsie Railroad, located in Blowing Rock, is a great family destination. There you can ride an authentic coal powered steam locomotive (as well as a variety of carnival rides), partake in Wild West shows, and enjoy an abundance of tasty treats. Also be sure to visit The Blowing Rock, an immense cliff hanging 3,000 feet over the John’s River Gorge, where gravity appears to be reversed – causing objects to fall up!
